Bennie Gonzales

Bennie Gonzales has over 40 years of procurement experience. He received his formal training at the United States Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). Bennie currently trains and instructs DoD and civilian agency Contracting Officers enrolled in Level I, II and III Federal Acquisition Certification-Contracting (FAC-C) programs as well Contracting Officer's Representative (FAC-COR) certification program. 

Bennie worked as a Contracting Officer at Nevada’s Nellis AFB Central Contracting Directorate where he supported the Tactical Air Command’s Electronic Warfare Range contract requirements at Nellis and Tonapah, Nevada and served as Contracting Officer on major acquisition requirements. 

Bennie later worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) where he served as the Acquisition Manager for the Special Nuclear Materials Laboratory project, Special Assistant to the Associate Director of Operations, Support Services Group Leader as well as the Laboratory’s Small Business Program Manager. Bennie led, directed and served on formal source selection boards and developed, planned, wrote and administered supply, service, construction, A/E and other fixed price, cost reimbursement and incentive type contracts. 

Bennie is a Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), a Certified Lead Quality Assurance Auditor and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Bennie provides consulting services to small business firms in the area of acquisition, contract administration and/or proposal development. Bennie has authored a proposal preparation guide entitled: A Guide to Developing Winning Proposals.
